Gilson Wins Age Group at Disney Half Marathon

While most students at Denison University took a month of off school and relaxed the Denison men's and women's indoor track team traveled to and competed in the Walt Disney World Half Marathon. The teams competed in the half marathon on January 6, 2007. Senior Brian Gilson (Cortland, Ohio/ John F. Kennedy) took 1st in the 18-24 year old category with a finishing time of 1:20.50.
While placing an impressive 1st in his age group, Gilson also placed well overall. Out of the 13,000 entries in the half marathon Gilson placed 13th overall.
The indoor track team is back in action this Saturday in Granville, Ohio for the Lid Lifter meet (field events begin at 12:45 p.m. and running events at 1:45 p.m.).
