Sophomore Lex Hultquist set a new school record in the 800 and just missed a record in the 4x800 relay, leading Denison at the annual "Last Chance" meet at the Mitchell Center in Granville.
Hultquist ran a time of 1:54.14 in the 800, breaking the school record set by Tyler Pensyl in 2001. His time was also an NCAA provisional qualifying time.
In the 4x800 Hultquist teamed with Ben Holder, Ben Pendery and James Nelson and the foursome finished in 8:01.25, just missing Denison's oldest indoor school record of 8:00.00 set in 1968.
In the 3,000 meters, Clark Paciorek placed third with a time of 8:57.01 and Mike Barnes logged a third place finish in the 400 meters in 51.92 seconds. Freshman Bill Horn cleared 13'6" to place fourth in the pole vault and junior Andrew Cook tied for second after clearing 6'2" in the high jump.
