Men's Results from the Greater Columbus Indoor Meet

Sophomore Lex Hultquist (Knoxville, Tenn./Webb School) won the mile and the 1000 meters while Jacob Rodriguez-Noble (Maumee, Ohio/St. John's) took first place in the 5000 meter run to lead Denison at the Greater Columbus indoor meet at the Kenyon Athletic Center. Hultquist ran a career-best time of 4:18.37 to win the mile and he followed that up with a time of 2:35.84 in the 1,000.
Joel Bendtsen (Chillicothe, Ohio/Chillicothe) and Grant Russo (Medina, Ohio/Medina) placed fifth and sixth, respectively in the mile and Adam Tewahade (Aurora, Colo./Regis Jesuit) ran a time of 2:37.93 to place third in the 1,000. The 5,000 saw Rodriguez-Noble log a time of 15:53.40 to win by nearly four seconds.
Brian Gilson (Cortland, Ohio/JFK) placed fourth in 16:06.07. Michael Barnes (Gates Mills, Ohio/Mayfield) was the runner-up in the 500 meters in 1:08.85 and teammate James Nelson (Orchard Park, N.Y./Orchard Park) placed third overall.
In the 800, Ben Pendery (Ft. Thomas, Ky./Highlands) took fourth and Matt Perkett (Newburgh, Ind./Indiana Academy) was eighth.
In the field events, Bill Horn was second in the pole vault, clearing 14'0". Junior Andrew Cook (Thetford Center, Vt./Thetford Academy) took third place in the high jump by clearing 6'2"
Denison will compete in next week's Last Chance meet on Friday night at the Mitchell Center.
