Men's Indoor Track & Field: Greater Columbus D-III Results

Ben Holder (Dover, Ohio/Dover) won the 800 meters and the Big Red's 4x400 relay team took home first place as Denison placed fourth at the 2008 Greater Columbus Invitational from Otterbein College.

Holder covered the 800 meters in 1:58.99 to outdistance Ohio Wesleyan's Garret Andre-Johnson.  Denison's winning 4x400 relay team was made up of Mike Barnes (Gates Mills, Ohio/Mayfield), Holder, Erik Walker (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands) and Ben Pendery (Ft. Thomas, Ky./Highlands).  The foursome combined for a time of 3:26.40.

Barnes also competed in the 400 meter dash where he logged a time of 52.26 seconds which was good for fifth place.  Preston Osborn of Ohio Wesleyan won the event with a time of 51.09 seconds.

Matt Perkett (Evansville, Ind./School of Science) took third in the 500 meter dash and freshman Aaron Dodds (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover) placed fifth in the 200 meters.  In field events, freshman Will Kirk placed second in the pole vault by clearing 13'6.25".  James Cosby (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) took sixth in the long jump and second in the triple jump while Chris Barber and Borden Marshall (Marysville, Ohio/Marysville) placed third and fourth, respectively in the shot put.
