Denison University landed a conference-high 11 players on the All-North Coast Athletic Conference squads and freshman Brady Burton (Dublin, Ohio/Jerome) took home NCAC Newcomer of the Year accolades following the Big Red's 11-4 campaign.

Burton, who was also named to the first-team at attack, scored a conference-high 47 goals in his rookie season while also adding 10 assists. That was the second highest single-season goal scoring total in Denison history and the most goals ever scored by a freshman at DU. He finished with two, six-goal games and tallied eight points (six goals, two assists) on the road at Colorado College.

Joining Burton on the first-team was junior attack Topher Nazaruk (Straftford, Conn./Fairfield Prep), sophomore middie Dan Maude (Wayne, Pa./The Haverford School) and junior long pole Taylor Nissi (Groton, Mass./Holderness).

Nazaruk finished the year as the conference leader in points per game at 3.85. He scored 25 goals and led the team with 25 assists, the most by a DU player since Ryan Berger netted 25 helpers in 2002. He joined Burton as the only two Big Red players to post an eight point game when he netted four goals and four assists against Wittenberg.

In the midfield, Maude moved up to the first-team after earning honorable mention in 2006. He scored 20 goals and added nine assists. For the second consecutive season Nissi was named the top long stick in the NCAC. He finished with 34 ground balls and helped the team post a .814 clear percentage.

Four individuals were named to the All-NCAC second-team. At middie, junior Rick Mackessy (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) was named to his first all-conference squad after scoring 18 goals and adding 19 assists. He was third on the team in scoring with 37 points.

Sophomore Jim Minor (Washington, Pa./Trinity) also received his first all-conference award at second-team defense. The sophomore started all 15 games and had 24 ground balls. Senior Brian Cleary (Milton, Mass./Boston College H.S.) led DU in ground balls with 50 while playing in all 15 games for the Big Red. He also chipped in two assists. This is his first second-team award. Cleary was an honorable mention in 2006.

Rounding out the second-team was junior goalie Alex Baruch (Richmond, Va./St. Christopher's). A first-team choice in 2005 and a second-team pick in 2006, Baruch enjoyed another outstanding season in the cage for DU. He posted a .613 save percentage and allowed just 75 goals. In the regular season finale versus Kenyon, the third-year net minder turned in a stellar, 13 save, one goal allowed performance, helping Denison to their 15th NCAA Tournament appearance.

Seniors Clay Wawner (Charlottesville, Va./Monticello), Chris Chandler (Kent, Ohio/Roosevelt) and junior Dave Harman (Hudson, Ohio/Western Reserve Academy) rounded out the honorable mentions. Wawner scored four goals and had 13 assists at attack. This was his third all-conference award. Chandler posted 13 goals and five assists to be named to the midfield HM list and Harmon rounded out the all-stars by being named to the honorable mention squad as a defenseman.
