Men's Lacrosse: Jones named Men's Lacrosse Athlete of the Week

Emmett Jones scored 10 goals in two wins last week to be named NCAC Athlete of the Week.

Date: April 15, 2008
Location: GRANVILLE

Denison University first-year attackman Emmett Jones (Colorado Springs, Colo./Air Academy) was named the North Coast Athletic Conference men's lacrosse Athlete of the Week after leading Denison to a pair of victories over Oberlin and St. Vincent.

Jones, who was inserted into the Big Red's starting lineup following an injury to senior Topher Nazaruk (Stratford, Conn./Fiarfield Prep), made the most of his opportunity as he led Denison with 10 goals in two games.  Jones has 22 points on the season off 17 goals and five assists.

Denison is riding a six-game winning streak and is 14th in the latest USILA Division III top-20 rankings.  The Big Red has scored at least 19 goals in each of their last four games and has outscored the opposition 170-55 in 2008.

The Big Red will host Colorado College on Friday (April 18) at 7:30 p.m.
