Coming off a record-setting performance in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the Washington & Jefferson College Invitational, Denison freshman Dee Salukombo (Lakewood, Ohio/Lakewood) was selected North Coast Athletic Conference Distance/Middle Distance Runner of the Week.

The first-year runner crossed the line in 9:37.30 en route to capturing the 3,000-meter steeplechase title at the Washington & Jefferson Invitational. In addition, Salukombo's time also set a new meet record.

Salukombo has already been named athlete of the week three times in his young career with the previous two coming in cross country (Sept. 21) and indoor track (March 2).

The Big Red are back in action on Saturday when they travel to Delaware, Ohio for the Division III All-Ohio Championships hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University.
