Denison to host first outdoor meet in nine years

Recently renovated Deeds Field-Piper Stadium will see its first competitive action since 1999 as Denison hosts the Big Red Invitational this Friday, April 25.

Granville was a hub of outdoor track meets during the 1980s and early 1990s. The stadium played host to the 1985 NCAA Men's Outdoor Championship Meet as well as numerous conference and regular season meets over the years. In 1996, upon completion of the Mitchell Recreation and Athletic Center, the university's focus moved indoors as the facility has hosted the last 13 indoor conference championship meets.

Competing in Friday's four-team meet will be fellow North Coast Athletic Conference members Kenyon, Wooster and Ohio Wesleyan. Field Events will begin at 3:45, followed by running events at 5:30. Below is the order of events, with the women's races taking place before the men's.
