Lex Hultquist won the 800 meters and Mike Barnes took first place in the 200 as the Denison men's track and field team finished fourth out of 10 teams at the Kenyon Invitational on Saturday. Hultquist landed the school's seventh fastest time in the 800 when he crossed the finish line in 1:55.03. Barnes took first place in the 200 with a time of 22.37 seconds. In the discus senior Jeff Mervosh placed second with a throw of 41.02 meters. Junior Andrew Cook cleared 6'0" in the high jump to take second and Bill Horn cleared 3.97 meters in the pole vault which was good enough for third place. Freshman RK Glover took fourth in long jump and Bret O'Brien placed sixth in the javelin throw. The 5,000 meter saw Skyler Mosenthal turn in a fourth place finish with a time of 16:37.87. In the 400 hurdles James Nelson took the bronze with a time of 57.99 and Craig Baker also came in third in the men's steeplechase. He logged a time of 10:13.25 on the 3,000 meter course.
