Men's Outdoor Track & Field: Big Red place seventh at NCAC Championships

Joel Bendtsen won the 2008 NCAC Outdoor Championship in the men's 5,000 meters on Friday afternoon.

Joel Bendtsen captured the North Coast Athletic Conference championship in the men's 5,000 meters on Friday helping Denison to a seventh place finish at the 2008 NCAC Outdoor championships from Ohio Wesleyan University.

Bendtsen ran a time of 15:2.90 to win the individual title and highlight day for the Big Red.

Junior Mike Barnes logged a fourth place finish  in the 400 meters with a time of 49.58 seconds.  He returned in the 200 meter dash with a fifth place finish and a time of 23.07.  Barnes walso ran on Denison's 4x100 relay squad with Brett Ayers, David Brade and Erik Walker.  

In the men's 800 meter's, Ben Pendery and Lex Hultquist took third and fourth place, respectively.   Pendery finished in 1:57.8 and Hultquist trailed by just under one second.

Ayers, Barnes, Pendery and Matt Perkett placed fifth in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:27.54 and James Cosby and Bill Aukerman rounded out Denison's scoring in their respective field events.  Cosby placed seventh in the triple jump and Aukerman placed sixth in the high jump, clearing 6'0.5".
