Denison men's soccer senior David Folt (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) and junior Peter Shorten (Hudson, Ohio/Western Academy) were named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV Team for the second straight season. Folt repeated as a first team selection while Shorten received first team honors for the first time. By being named to the first team both Folt and Shorten advance to the national ballot with hopes of being awarded Academic All-American accolades.

Folt is a four year starter on the Big Red's defensive line. During his four years as a defender the senior has been apart of 21 shutouts while accumulating 10 points (four goals, two assists) in 68 career games. The senior is a two-time first-team all-North Coast Athletic Conference selection (2006, 2007) and earned NCAC Defender of the Year honors in 2006.

Shorten is having a break out season during his junior campaign, compiling six goals and two assists from the midfield position. Earlier this season he posted back-to-back multi-goal games, marking the first two of his carer. While at Denison, the junior has played in 53 matches, compiling 10 goals and dishing out seven assists. Shorten currently leads the Big Red in points with 27 and is the co-leader in goals.

Created in 1952 by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America Teams Program is a premier, nationwide college scholar-athlete awards program. It recognizes 816 outstanding student-athletes annually in Division I, II, III and NAIA covering all NCAA championship sports.
