Men's Soccer: DU beats the clock in win over Fontbonne

Tyler Dolanch (Pittsburgh, Pa./Ringgold) scored off a breakaway with 17 seconds remaining, breaking a 1-1 tie and sending the Denison Big Red to a 2-1 win over Fontbonne University at Washington University in St. Louis, Mo.

Dolanch sent the Big Red home a winner after sending a shot past Fontbonne goalkeeper DJ Kaiping after he came out of the box to challenge the scoring opportunity.  The goal was the second of the season for Dolanch.

Fontbonne took a 1-0 lead in the 11th minute when Kevin Vonarx one-timed a cross from Mike Utley.  Thirty minutes later the Big Red would bounce back as sophomore Len Mills (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) would convert his first goal of the season after an assist by Matt Kepler.

Denison would go on to outshoot Fontbonne 19-12.  Junior goalkeeper Kevin Donahue (Riverside, Conn./Greenwich) finished with three saves while Kaiping posted nine saves.

The Big Red (3-1-1) will return to action on Saturday night when they face Washington University at 8 p.m. CST.  This is the first meeting between Denison and Washington since the 2002 season.
