Denison men's soccer senior Peter Shorten (Hudson, Ohio/Western Reserve Academy) was named to the ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District IV Team for the second consecutive season.  By being named to the first team Shorten advances to the national ballot with hopes of being awarded Academic All-American honors.

Shorten is a four year starter at midfielder for the Big Red.  During his four-year tenure, the senior has registered 17 goals, which include seven game winners and four PK tallies, and 10 assists in 71 career games.  Shorten earned honorable mention All-North Coast Athletic Conference status in 2007, and was a second-team all-conference choice in 2008.  This season, the Hudson, Ohio native leads DU in points with 15 and goals with six.

Denison (10-4-3) locked up the No. 2 seed in the NCAC Tournament with a 3-0 victory over the College of Wooster last Saturday.  The Big Red will host league rival Kenyon College in NCAC semifinal action on Wednesday (Nov. 4).  Match time is slated for 7 p.m. and will be broadcasted on the Denison Sports Network powered by TEAMLINE.
