Denison senior Tucker Mauke (Simsbury, Conn./West Simsbury) was named North Coast Athletic Conference Player of the Week in men's soccer after recording a seven-point performance that helped the Big Red go a perfect 2-0 in conference play last week.
Mauke had a hand in all four of DU's goals this past week. The senior set up the game-winning goal in the 11th minute of a 2-0 shutout at Earlham College on Tuesday, and tacked on an unassisted insurance tally in the 78th minute. He followed that up with a pair of goals in the 49th and 89th minutes as Denison shut out Oberlin 2-0 on Saturday. Mauke currently leads the squad in goals (5) and points (12).
Denison is 8-4-1 on the year and is tied for second in the NCAC with a 4-1 mark. The Big Red returns to action on Wednesday when they
travel to Gambier, Ohio to take on 23rd-ranked Kenyon College (11-3, 4-1 NCAC) in a battle for sole possession of second place in the league. The match against the Lords is slated to kick off at 4 p.m.
