Men's Soccer: Russo inducted into Gannon Univ. Athletic Hall of FameDenison University head men's soccer coach Rob Russo was recently inducted into the Gannon University Athletic Hall of Fame. Russo, who coached the Golden Knights from 1982-90, is still the program's all-time leader in victories. |

Shorten is the 57th Academic All-America recipient from Denison and the first men's soccer player in the history of the program. |

Three Denison teams gear up for NCAC TournamentsThree Denison teams have qualified for the 2009 North Coast Athletic Conference postseason tournaments and Denison University will be the host for two of those semifinal match-up's. On Tuesday (Nov. 3) the top-seeded women's soccer team will host Earlham College at 7 p.m. at Barclay-Thomsen Field. On Wednesday (Nov. 4), the second-seeded men's soccer team will host Kenyon College at 7 p.m. at Deeds Field-Piper Stadium. Also on Wednesday, the field hockey team will travel to The College of Wooster for a 2 p.m. semifinal clash at John P. Papp Stadium. |
The Denison men's soccer team assisted St. Vincent de Paul Society out of Newark, Ohio with a clothing drive for Hatian earthquake relief.
NCAA Soccer Tournament
After Saturday's double-overtime upset of top-ranked Ohio Wesleyan in the NCAC Tournament Championship, the Denison men's soccer team will advance to the 2009 NCAA Division III Tournament via the conference's automatic bid. DU takes a record of 12-4-3 into the postseason.
In the opening round, Denison will take on Medaille at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pa. on Saturday at 11 a.m.
