Andy Leindecker scored in the opening minutes, leading DU to a shutout of host, Wabash.
Date: September, 29 2007
Location: Crawfordsville, Ind.
For the second straight game Denison was able to set the tone with an early goal, this time it was an Andy Leindecker (St. Louis, Mo./S.L.U.H.S.) tally off a Ryan Linn (Zanesville, Ohio/Muskingum) assist that got them on the board less than five minutes into the match which eventually led to a 3-0 victory for the Denison Big Red over Wabash College.
The Big Red were dominant in the first half firing off nine shots to the Little Giants’ three. One of those shots was a Tyler Dolanch (Pittsburgh, Pa./Ringgold) unassisted goal that put Denison up 2-0 at the half.
The second period was controlled mostly by the Big Red defense, which allowed the Little Giants’ to only get two shots off for the entire half. Sophomore keeper Kevin Donahue (Riverside, Conn./Greenwich) recorded another great match registering three saves and a shutout. Senior Aaron Libman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) scored an unassisted goal in the eighty-sixth minute to put the Big Red up 3-0 and cap off a tremendous all around effort by Denison.
The Big Red travel to Springfield, Ohio next weekend to take on conference rival Wittenberg. The match is set for 7:00 p.m.
