Men's Soccer: Linn's goal leads DU past Oberlin

Ryan Linn scored his third goal of the season to lead Denison past Oberlin.

Senior forward Ryan Linn (Zanesville, Ohio/West Muskingum) scored 38 minutes into the contest and that would be enough as the Denison University men's soccer team earned a 1-0 victory over Oberlin College on Wednesday night.

Linn's goal, which was his third on the season, developed after teammate Aaron Libman (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt.Lebanon) slipped a ball to Linn who booted the ball from the 18 to the upper, right 90.

The Denison defense, led by sophomore goalkeeper Kevin Donahue (Riverside, Conn./Greenwich), held Oberlin to five total shots and four shots on goal.  The shutout was Donahue's fifth of the season.

Linn led Denison in shots attempts with six.  The team outshot Oberlin 10-5 and tied them with four corner kicks.Oberlin goalkeeper Derrick Bean recorded six saves while allowing one goal.

Denison improves to 8-3-1 on the season and 2-2 in North Coast Athletic Conference play.  The Big Red will travel to KenyonCollege on Saturday (Oct. 13) for a 3 p.m. match-up with the Lords.
