Men's Soccer: Senior Day ends in a tie with Hiram

Date: October 27, 2007
Location: GRANVILLE

The Big Red took 17 shots and had a host of scoring opportunities in regulation but a goal by Hiram's Mario Reyes in the 80th minute tied the game at 1-1.  After two scoreless overtime periods that would be the final as both Hiram and Denison end their respective seasons with a tie.

The first goal of the game was scored by Denison senior Ryan Linn (Zanesville, Ohio/West Muskingum) in the 68th minute off a breakaway.  The goal was his team-leading eighth of the season.  Linn provided much of the firepower for the Big Red on the day as he attempted nine of DUs 17 shots with six of those shots going on-goal.

DU outshot the Terriers 17-9 while Hiram took three corner kicks to Denison's two.  Big Red goalkeeper Kevin Donahue (Riverside, Conn./Greenwich) posted four saves in goal and Terrier keeper Nate Rausch turned in a masterful performance with 10 saves, all coming in regulation.

Denison's season ends with a 9-6-2 overall record while Hiram closes out their 2007 campaign at 11-4-3.
