Men's Swimming & diving: DU rolls past Oberlin and Ohio Wesleyan

The Denison men's swimming and diving team is off to a 2-0 start in dual meets this season following a 157-117 win over Ohio Wesleyan and a 160-101 victory at Oberlin College.
Against OWU, Denison was led by senior John Geissinger (Darien, Conn./Lawrenceville) who logged three victories in the 200 medley relay, 100 and 200 freestyles. Tying Geissinger for the team-lead in wins was senior Charlie Grodecki (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) also swam on the 200 medley relay and swept the 100 and 200 backstroke events. Denison's other multi-event winners were junior Matt Wright (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier) who took first in the 200 fly and was a part of the 200 medley relay team while Cody Smith (Ardmore, Pa./Haverford) swept the diving events.
Other winners for DU against Ohio Wesleyan were Callan Hetterich (Denver, Colo./Regis Jesuit) in the 500 freestyle.
Against Oberlin College sophomore Andrew Krawchyk (Chapel Hill, N.C./East Chapel Hill) took first in the 200 medley relay, the 100 free and the 200 free relay. John Nemeth (Pittsburgh, Pa./Central Catholic) won the 200 breaststroke andw as a part of the 200 medley relay. Junior Andy Catlin (Owego, N.Y./Owego Free State) was the winner in the 200 free and 500 free and Robert Barry (Richmond, Va./St. Christopher's) took first in the 200 IM, 200 medley relay, and the 100 backstroke, rounding out the multiple event winners for the Big Red.
Other event winners for Denison against Oberlin were Mike Barczak (Beverly Hills, Mich./Brother Rice) and Casey Browning (Grosse Pointe, Mich./South).
Denison will travel to Gambier, Ohio next Saturday (Nov. 8) for their annual dual meet against Kenyon College.
