Men's Tennis: Denison blanks Bishops

The 23rd ranked Denison men's tennis team made short work of Ohio Wesleyan University in their first North Coast Athletic Conference west division match up of the 2009 season.  DU blanked the Bishops 9-0 to improve to 6-2 on the season.

In singles play James Davis improved to 5-3 on the year and picked up his first win at No. 1 singles by defeating Kevin Kahn 6-2, 6-2.  In the second flight Nate Hobrath did not drop a game to Danie Thangarajah and Evan Verbofsky topped Brandon Luttinger at No. 3 singles, 6-3, 6-3.  The remaining singles wins went to Matt McErlean, Tim Martin and Adam Seeley.

In doubles play Jordan Buehler and Davis routed Scott Hellberg and Kahn, 8-2.  Tyler Cempre and Hobrath won at No. 2 doubles and Jared Connolly and Martin were too much for the Bishops at No. 3 doubles.

DU will host Earlham College on Saturday (March 28) at 11 a.m.
