Men's Tennis: Denison wins third straight against Wabash

The 23rd-ranked Denison Big Red rattled off their third-consecutive victory and finished their North Coast Athletic Conference West Division schedule with a 4-0 record after a 5-0 decision over Wabash College on Thursday afternoon in Granville.
The Big Red jumped out to a 3-0 lead after a clean sweep in doubles play. The senior duo of Jordan Beuhler (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) and James Davis (Toledo, Ohio/St. John's Jesuit) edged out an 8-6 win in the first flight while the pairings of Tyler Cempre (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) and Nate Hobrath (Strongsville, Ohio/Walsh Jesuit), and Tim Martin (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park & River Forest) and Jared Connolly (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park & River Forest) posted matchin 8-1 victories.
In singles action, first-years Matt McErlean (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) and Tom Cawood (East Lansing, Mich./East Lansing) notched straight-set victories. McErlean won 6-1, 6-1 at third singles while Cawood registered a pair of 6-0 wins at the fifth flight.
Denison (14-4) has won five of their last six matches heading into this weekend's NCAC Tournament. The Big Red open up conference tournament play on Friday against a team to be determined.
