Men's Tennis: Big Red downed by University of Chicago

The Big Red men's tennis team started off the spring season with some tough competition, with a match against the University of Chicago, on February 15.  Denison's men entered the matched ranked #11 regionally while Chicago was ranked #13.

The Maroons beat the Big Red 6-3.  The doubles team of senior Tom Hodgkiss-Lilly (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) and freshman Evan Verbosky (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel Area) got Denison's only victory in doubles with an 8-6 win.

Hodgkiss-Lilly had a big day for Denison, also winning his singles match in straight sets over Steve Saltarelli, 6-1, 6-3.  The Big Red's third victory came from senior Randy Lofgren (West Chester, Ohio/Princeton) who won his singles match 6-4, 7-6 (10-8).
