Men's Tennis: Fall ITA Results

Denison Men's Tennis Team was well represented at the Fall ITA Regional tournament held at Kalamazoo, Mich. from September 28-30.
In singles play, senior Randy Lofgren (West Chester, Ohio/Princeton) reached round 16 before bowing 6-1, 6-0 to Washington University's Charlie Cutler, the #3 seed. Freshman Evan Verbofsky (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel Area), advanced to round 32 where he was defeated 7-6, 5-7, 7-5 by Wheaton's top player, Justin Miller.
In doubles, the duo of Verbofsky and Jared Connolly (Oak Park, Ill./Oak Park and River Forest) defeated Kenyon's top returning team of Rob Alef and Will Vandenberg 8-5. The duo advanced to the quarterfinals where they were beaten by the #1 seed and eventual winners, Charlie Cutler and Chris Hoeland from Washington University. The second seeded team of Lofgren and Kevin Newman (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore) ran into the strong team of Charlie Howard and Max Woods, also from Washington University. Howard and Woods prevailed 8-4.
