Date: May 13, 2008
Location: CLEVELAND

The Denison men's tennis team landed all six singles players on the 2008 North Coast Athletic Conference all-conference squad that was highlighted by senior doubles team Randy Lofgren (Cincinnati, Ohio/Princeton) and Kevin Newman (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore)  who were awarded with their fourth consecutive first-team honor.

Lofgren and Newman posted a 12-2 record at No. 1 doubles and will compete at the 2008 NCAA Division III national doubles championship this week at Bates College.  This is the third NCAA championship berth for the pair since their arrival in 2005.

Joining Lofgren and Newman on the All-NCAC first team was junior James Davis (Sylvania, Ohio/St. John's Jesuit).  Davis took over at No. 1 singles for Jordan Buehler (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) after an injury forced him to the sidelines late in the season.  He posted a 8-5 record at No. 2 and was 3-2 at No. 1 singles.  After a pair of first-team awards as a freshman and sophomore, Buehler earned second-team honors in 2008 along with Lofgren who earned either first or second team accolades for the fourth straight season.

Rounding out the singles honorees were seniors Tom Hodgkiss-Lilly (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) and Kevin Newman.  Hodgkiss-Lilly posted a 8-1 record at No. 5 singles for DU and Newman picked up his second honorable mention award of his career.  Earning his first honorable mention nod was freshman Evan Verbofsky (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) who went 6-3 at No. 6 singles.

Rounding out the 2008 all-stars for Denison was the doubles team of Davis and Buehler who went 9-3 at second doubles.
