Men's Tennis: 11th ranked Carnegie Mellon tops DU

The Denison men's tennis team suffered a 6-3 loss to 11th ranked Carnegie Mellon on Wednesday afternoon in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Denison held a 2-1 lead after Randy Lofgren (West Chester, Ohio/Princeton) and Kevin Newman (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore) won 8-5 at #1 doubles. Jordan Buehler (Wooster, Ohio/Wooster) and James Davis (Toledo, Ohio/st. John's Jesuit) followed with an 8-5 win of their own at #2 doubles, giving Denison some hope for an upset.
In singles play Carnegie Mellon would take five out of six matches to complete the win and move to 12-4 on the year. Denison's lone singles victory would come from Tom Hodgkiss-Lilly (Cleveland Heights, Ohio/Cleveland Heights) at #5 singles. He defeated Ravi Raghavan 7-6 (2-0), 7-6 (5-0).
DU falls to 5-3 and is ranked 11th in the region. Carnegie Mellon is currently ranked third in the central region.
The Big Red will host Wittenberg on April 1 at 4 p.m.
