The Denison men's tennis team advanced to the finals of the 2008 North Coast Athletic Conference tournament on Sunday before falling to Kenyon College, 5-0 at Don Hunsinger Courts in Oberlin, Ohio.

Denison topped Wabash College 5-1 in the semifinals to advance to the title match.  Against Kenyon, Michael Greenberg and Jeremy Polster grinded out a victory over Denison doubles team Randy Lofgren and Kevin Newman, 9-8 (7-6).  Greenberg and Polster are the central region's third-ranked doubles team while Lofgren and Newman are rated as the No. 5 duo in the region.

At second doubles, Kenyon's Charles Brody and Daniel Becker defeated James Davis and Nate Hobrath 8-4 while McNeil Parker and William VandenBerg topped Jared Connolly and Tom Hodgkiss-Lilly 8-5.

In singles play Denison's Evan Verbofsky fell to Robert Alef, 6-2, 6-0 at No. 6 and Greenberg topped James Davis 6-1, 6-2 to clinch the match.

The championship was Kenyon's second-straight and 11th overall.  That total trails only Denison's 12 NCAC men's tennis crowns.

In the semifinals versus Wabash, Newman, Verbofsky and Hobrath all secured singles wins for the Big Red.  DU also took two of three doubles points to lock up the 5-1 win.
