Wittenberg Falls to Denison in Men's Tennis

The Big Red men's tennis team improved to 4-0 in North Coast Athletic Conference play with their 6-1 victory over Wittenberg Tuesday night. Denison, the 12th ranked team in the region, won five of six singles matches and took all three doubles matches to lock up the victory. In the first flight, senior Ethan Branum (Crowborough, England/New Hope) defeated Shane Hutton, 7-6, 6-3. Number two, Randy Lofgren (Cincinnati, Ohio/Princeton) won his match 6-2, 6-3 and first-year Kevin Newman (Cincinnati, Ohio/Sycamore) defeated Nick McLean in three sets, 4-6, 6-1, 6-2. Denison's final two singles wins were secured by Eric Messick (Ashville, Ohio/Teays Valley) and Nick Pellegrin (Newark, Ohio/Newark). Denison moves to 6-2 overall. They will compete at the GLCA Tournament this Friday and Saturday at DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind.
