Women's Indoor Track & Field: Ohio Wesleyan Holds off Allegheny to win NCAC Indoor Championship

Ohio Wesleyan University's second-place finish in the final event of the day, the 4x400 meter relay, resulted in a two-point victory over Allegheny College which gives the Bishops their second-straight North Coast Athletic Conference Indoor Track & Field Championship and their seventh title in school history.

Denison sophomore Emily Hammeren was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week after winning the pole vault at the 2008 Greater Columbus Division III Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 9 in Westerville, Ohio.

Sophomore Emily Hammeren cleared 10'6" in the pole vault to take home first place and in the process set a new school record as she helped Denison to a fifth place finish at the Greater Columbus Division III Invitational hosted by Otterbein College.

The Denison women's indoor track and field squad totaled 42.5 points to place fifth at Saturday's North Coast Athletic Conference Relays at the Mitchell Center in Granville. Ohio Wesleyan took home the women's crown with 97 team points.

For the 13th consecutive season Denison University will host the NCAC's Indoor Track & Field Championship at the Mitchell Center for Athletics and Recreation.  Events will begin on Friday (Feb. 29) and will continue through Saturday (March 1).  For complete coverage of the event visit the championship home page at the link below.
