Carolyn Simpson grabbed her 700th career rebound in Saturday's win over Allegheny.

Shaina Kaiser (Ostrander, Ohio/Buckeye Valley) scored 15 points and Carolyn Simpson (Dublin, Ohio/Scioto) joined some exclusive company in the DU record books as the Big Red rolled to a 73-53 victory over North Coast Athletic Conference opponent Allegheny College on Saturday afternoon from Livingston Gymnasium.

Kaiser's 11 first half points helped Denison to a 35-27 halftime lead.  In the second half the Big Red found their stroke from long range, hitting on 7-of-11 from beyond the arc which pushed the Denison lead to as much as 29-points with 5:04 remaining. Fifteen players would get in the game for the Big Red and 12 would get in the scoring column.  Kaiser was 7-for-11 from the field and finished with 15 points in 25 minutes.  Thanks to three straight 3-pointers in the second half Haley Dahlgard (Walnut Creek, Calif./Northgate) finished with 11 points.

Late in the first half Simpson hauled in an offensive rebound which gave her 700 for her career.  She joins Kristen Sheffield and Christi Clay as the only Denison players to score at least 1,000 points and grab 700 rebounds.  Simpson ended with nine points, eight rebounds and two blocked shots in 25 minutes.  She is third all-time with 703 rebounds and is just 14 points away from moving into fifth place on the DU all-time scoring list.

Denison shot 50 percent from the field (29-for-58) and were 10-for-20 from 3-point range.  They edged Allegheny 35-33 on the boards and committed 12 turnovers to the Gators' 17.

Allegheny was led in scoring by Jill Gregory's 10 points.  She also finished with five rebounds and two assists.  Shannon Culbreath came off the bench to lead her squad with nine rebounds in 22 minutes.  As a team they shot 35 percent from the field and were 5-for-8 from beyond the arc.
