Women's Basketball: Big Red Falls to DePauw in NCAA First-Round

Playing in their fourth straight NCAA Division III Tournament the Big Red have a history of upsetting first-round opponents. Defending national champ DePauw came out of the gates strong and saw to it that they would not be another bullet-point on the Denison resume, eventually stopping the Big Red 70-53 on Friday night.

Women's Basketball: Four Named to All-NCAC Squads

Denison juniors Carolyn Simpson and Ellen O'Brien were named to the North Coast Athletic Conference women's basketball first-team on Wednesday. Junior Sarah Perrine earned second-team honors and first-year Haley Dahlgard was the Co-Newcomer of the Year.

Women's Basketball: NCAA Tournament Pairings Announced

Denison clinched a berth in this weekend's NCAA Tournament by defeating Wittenberg University in the championship game of the North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament on Saturday, March 1. The win marked Denison's fourth consecutive NCAC Tournament title and ran their winning streak in conference tournament play to 12 games.

Women's Basketball: Denison Captures Fourth Consecutive NCAC Tournament Championship

Led by Ellen O'Brien's 18 points and a 21-for-27 showing as a team at the free throw line, the Denison Big Red managed to pull away from #3 seed Wittenberg University, capturing their fourth consecutive North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament Championship by a final score of 66-55 on Saturday night at Kenyon College.

Women's Basketball: Denison edges Kenyon to return to NCAC Finals

Thanks to some stingy defense by the Big Red that was a throwback to performances of year's past, Denison pulled off the 43-41 victory over the top-seeded Kenyon Ladies and will face #3 seed, Wittenberg on Saturday (March 1) in the 2008 NCAC Championship game at 7 p.m. in Gambier.

Women's Basketball: Denison advances to NCAC Semifinals

Denison University got a career-high 16 points from Shaina Kaiser and Ellen O'Brien scored all 10 of her points in the final six minutes of play as the Big Red rallied for a 75-66 victory over Allegheny College in the 2008 North Coast Athletic Conference Tournament.

Women's Basketball: Denison to host Allegheny in NCAC Quarterfinals

The 2008 North Coast Athletic Conference women's basketball tournament will kick off this Tuesday (Feb. 26) and the Big Red will begin their quest for their fourth consecutive conference tournament title against #5 seed, Allegheny College. Tip-off is schedule for 7:30 p.m. at Livingston Gymnasium.

Stephanie Wolf scored 17 points and Brittany Bell added 16 points as Allegheny College earned a 67-59 win over Denison on Saturday at Livingston Gymnasium.

Women's Basketball: Kenyon clinches NCAC title with win over Big Red

Kenyon College got 20 points from Alisha Moreno and senior Ann Dugan chipped in 11 points and went over the 1,000 career point plateau as the Ladies handed the Denison Big Red a 69-48 loss on Wednesday at Tomsich Arena.

Junior Katie St. Clair followed up Friday night's career-high 17 point performance with a new career-high, 22 point effort which helped her Denison Big Red to a clear-cut 74-47 victory over Oberlin College on Saturday night at Phillips Gymnasium.

The Big Red women's basketball suffered a first-round defeat to defending champ, DePauw University on Friday night in Greencastle, Ind.  It was a magical run for the Big Red who captured their fourth consecutive North Coast Athletic Conference tournament championship despite entering the tournament as the #4 seed.  Read all about Denison's run to the tournament at the links below
