Women's Basketball: Big Red routs Quakers

Haley Dahlgard scored a game-high 15 points in Denison's 97-41 win over Earlham.
Six players scored in double figures and the Big Red women shot 59 percent from the field in a 97-41 romp over visiting Earlham College on Wednesday at Livingston Gymnasium.
Denison shot 63 percent from the field in the first half and led 51-25 at the half. Denison was led in scoring by freshman Haley Dahlgard (Walnut Creek, Calif./Northgate) who dropped in 15 points in 17 minutes off 6-of-11 shooting. Carolyn Simpson (Dublin, Ohio/Scioto) scored 12 points and was 5-for-5 from the field. Sophomore Jackie Pachuta (Hilliard, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) also added 12 points.
Freshman Lindsay Henry (Elma, N.Y./Iroquois) made the most of her 23 minutes as she posted her first career double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds. The rookie was 5-for-12 from the field and also contributed three assists and two blocks. Junior wing Sarah Perrine (Springfield, Ohio/Shawnee) was 5-for-6 for 11 points and senior Anna Mayo (Potomac, Md./Walt Whitman) finished with 10 points. Junior guard Ellen O'Brien (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) scored nine points and was 4-for-4 to go along with a team-high even assists in just 18 minutes.
Denison was 42-for-72 from the field (.629) and knocked down 8-of-17 from beyond the arc.
Earlham was led by Whitney McBurrow' 11 points. Tracy Hill scored eight points and led the Quakers with eight rebounds.
Denison improves to 15-9 overall and 11-4 in the North Coast Athletic Conference with the win. They will host Allegheny College this Saturday at 2 p.m. in their regular season finale.
