Women's Basketball: Kenyon clinches NCAC title with win over Big Red

Kenyon College got 20 points from Alisha Moreno and senior Ann Dugan chipped in 11 points and went over the 1,000 career point plateau as the Ladies handed the Denison Big Red a 69-48 loss on Wednesday at Tomsich Arena.

With the victory Kenyon locked up the outright North Coast Athletic Conference regular season championship and will be the top-seed in the NCAC Tournament which begins on Feb. 26.

Denison was led by junior Carolyn Simpson (Dublin, Ohio/Scioto) who scored nine points, grabbed nine rebounds and finished with four blocked shots.  Freshman Lindsay Henry (Elma, N.Y./Iroquois) scored a career-high nine points and chipped in five boards in 21 minutes off the bench. 

Kenyon (17-6, 14-0 NCAC) outrebounded Denison 49-38 and forced the Big Red into 17 turnovers while committing 11 themselves. 

Denison (14-9, 10-4 NCAC) will return to the court next Wednesday (Feb. 20) when they host Earlham College at 6 p.m.
