The Northern California native recorded 18 points and 7 rebounds in the victory

Date: January 19, 2008
Location: GRANVILLE

Ellen O'Brien (Bethesda, Md./Walt Whitman) drained a half-court heave at the buzzer to give the Big Red a 38-19 lead at the half - a strong start that propelled Denison to a 82-59 victory Saturday over Oberlin.

Freshman Haley Dahlgard (Walnut Creek, Calif./Northgate) scored nine of her team-high 18 points before the break to give the Big Red the upper hand heading to the locker rooms. She also added seven rebounds and three assists.

Joining Dahlgard on the glass were junior post players Carolyn Simpson (Dublin, Ohio/Scioto) and Katie St. Clair (Granger Ind./St. Joseph's). Although limited by two first-half fouls, Simpson led the team with eight boards to go along with her six points and three assists. St. Clair scored nine and pulled down seven rebounds.

O'Brien scored 16 points on 6-9 shooting, including three three-pointers, and recorded five assists in leading the Big Red floor game. Junior wing Sarah Perrine (Springfield, Ohio/Shawnee) added 13.

For the Yeowomen, senior center Roneisha Kinney had a monster game inside with 20 points and 13 rebounds.

The 9-6 Big Red will host the Kenyon College Ladies at 7:30 p.m. in Livingston Gymnasium. WDUB 91.1 FM will broadcast the game.
