Pan Fanaritis enters his 15th season as head track and field coach at Denison University. In his 14 previous years at Denison, Coach Fanaritis has built the men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field teams into consistent contenders for North Coast Athletic Conference championships.

His 2004-05 indoor men's and women's track teams finished fifth and second respectively. For the 2005 outdoor season, Fanaritis coached the women's team to a third-place NCAC finish and the men to a fifth-place finish. Two women from the outdoor team, then junior Kim Murley and sophomore Christine Collins advanced on to the NCAA national meet. Murley, who competed in the 1500 meters finished 11th in the country and Collins also finished 11th in her best event, the 3,000 meter steeplechase.

In 2004 Fanaritis' squads completed the NCAC's triple crown, winning the women's cross country championship along with the indoor and outdoor track and field championships. The indoor title marked the sixth championship under Fanaritis. In 2001 the men's team finished a close second to perennial powerhouse Ohio Wesleyan. He has been recognized as the NCAC Track and Field Coach of the Year for both his men's and women's teams, and he has earned the conference's Cross Country Coach of the Year distinction, as well. More importantly, "Coach Pan's" runners have attained numerous individual successes and honors. He has coached Academic All-Americans, NCAA national qualifiers, NCAC champions, and several All-Conference performers during his time at Denison.

An active assistant to the men and women's cross-country teams, Fanaritis saw the women make history in the 2004 season as they capture the NCAC title, the NCAA regional title and finished eighth in the nation at the NCAA national meet. He also helped coach the women's team to another NCAC title, as well as another NCAA Great Lakes Regional title in 2005.

Prior to coming to Granville, Fanaritis spent 14 years coaching college track and cross country - 10 years at Georgetown, three years at Missouri and one year at Villanova. During that time he worked with Olympians, NCAA and TAC national champions, world and American record-setters, and numerous track and cross country All-Americans.

In addition, he has advised a number of athletes who earned various academic awards, including a Rhodes Scholar, more than a dozen Academic All-Americans, and many Big East and Big Eight Academic All-Stars.
