Scott Pohlman

Scott Pohlman enters his first season as the assistant softball coach at Denison in 2010. He comes to Granville after spending the past three seasons as the head softball coach and Athletic Director at nearby Millersport High School.
Since taking over the Millersport program in 2007, Pohlman guided the Lakers to 39 victories and two sectional championships, which were the school's first ever in softball. In 2007 he was named the Central Ohio Division IV Coach of the Year. Prior to taking over the head coaching job at Millersport, Pohlman spent 2006 as the volunteer junior varsity coach at Sheridan High School.
While coaching in the high school ranks, Pohlman has been very active in the summer coaching various regionally and nationally ranked travel teams. The last two years he has served as the head coach of the 18-and-under Ohio Stingrays and in 2007 he was the assistant coach with the 16-and-under Buckeye Heat club team.
Pohlman got his start in coaching with the Road Runners club based out of New Concord, Ohio. This came after a 27-year career with the Ohio Department of Public Safety's Investigative Unit. He retired in 2007 with the rank of Deputy Director.
A 1980 graduate of Capital University, Pohlman was a four-year letter winner in football and a two-year letter winner in wrestling for the Crusaders. He earned degrees in political science and criminal justice. He would later graduate from the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) National Academy in 1993.
Pohlman and his wife, Diane, reside in Somerset with their two daughters.
