Katie Navarre was the Division III women's runner-up at the 2008 All-Ohio Championship.
Sophomore Katie Navarre (Upper Arlington, Ohio/Upper Arlington) led the Denison Big Red to a 10th place finish in the Division III standings at the 2008 All-Ohio Cross Country Championship from the Methodist Theological School in Delaware, Ohio on Friday afternoon.
Navarre placed second out of all Division III runners with her time of 18:37.5. That outstanding time landed her in 13th place in the overall standings out of 288 total runners. It also set a new program-best for a Denison runner at the All-Ohio Championship. The previous best time by a Big Red female was 19:01 by Elaine Binkley in 2003.
Following Navarre in the standings for Denison was sophomore Kirby Mosenthal (Briarcliff, N.Y./Irvington) who crossed with a time of 20:55.1 which landed her in 46th place. Freshman Victoria Pottieger (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing) was third in 21:06 and junior Kelsey Pence (Columbus, Ind./Columbus North) took the fourth spot for DU in 21:13.6. Sophomore Julie Rotramel (Lexington, Ky./Lafayette) rounded out the scorers for Denison, placing 79th with a time of 21:51.4.
The Big Red will return to action next Friday (Oct. 17) at the Wilmington Fall Classic.
