Katie Navarre placed second overall at the 2008 NCAC Women's Cross Country Championships

Sophomore Katie Navarre (Upper Arlington, Ohio/Upper Arlington) finished second overall, helping Denison to a sixth place finish at the 2008 North Coast Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Championship on Saturday in Oberlin, Ohio.

As a team, the Big Red totaled 132 team points which landed them sixth, behind team champion, Kenyon (65), Ohio Wesleyan (81), Oberlin (87), Wittenberg (99) and Allegheny (100).

Following Navarre in the standings was sophomore Kirby Mosenthal (Briarcliff, N.Y./Irvington) who placed 23rd out of 97 runners with a time of 23:25.  Sophomore Ashley Putnam (North East, Pa./North East) was 34th in 24:03, junior Kelsey Pence (Columbus, Ind./Columbus North) was 40th in 21:18 and junior Kelly McCallin (Canton, Ohio/St. Thomas Aquinas) rounded out the Denison scoreres with a 42nd place finish and a time of 24:23.
