Women's Cross Country: Consistent Big Red Place 4th at Otterbein

Kelsey Pence helped Denison to six top-30 finishes at the Otterbein Invitational

The Big Red women's cross country team landed six runners in the top-30 resulting in a fourth place finish at the Otterbein Invitational in Westerville on Saturday.

Freshman Brooke Boening (Harpers Ferry, W.Va./Jefferson) set the pace for Denison with a time of 23:22 good for a 10th place finish.  Kelsey Pence (Columbus, Ind./North) followed in 20th place with a time of 23:56.  Two spots behind Pence was senior Brittany Cerankosky (Kirtland, Ohio/Kirtland) who crossed the finish line in 24:07.  Freshman Ashley Putnam (North East, Pa./North East) was next.  She placed 24th overall with a time of 24:19.  Kirby Mosenthal (Briarcliff, N.Y./Irvington) and Katie Navarre (Upper Arlington, Ohio/Upper Arlington) rounded out the Denison top-six with 27th and 28th place finishes, respectively. 

Denison will compete next at the 2007 All-Ohio Championships, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University on Friday, Oct. 5 in Delaware, Ohio.
