Women's Cross Country Places 4th at NCAC Championship

Senior Elaine Binkley (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) raced to a third place finish overall leading the Denison women's cross country team to a fourth place finish at the North Coast Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday. Binkley crossed the finish line in 24:56 to place third behind only Allegheny's Scarlett Graham (24:46) and Wooster's Katie Wieferich (24:11). She was followed by Denison junior Brittany Cerankosky (Kirtland, Ohio/Kirtland) who landed in the top-20 with a time of 26:05. Ashley Albrecht (Gaithersburg, Md./Magruder) placed 20th in 26:12 and first-year Kelsey Pence (Columbus, Ind./North) finished right behind Albrecht with a time of 26:16. Placing 25th overall was senior Christine Collins (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Chagrin Falls) who logged a time of 26:29. Rounding out the race for Denison was sophomore Kathryn McDonnell (Beverly Hills, Mich./Marian) and freshman Holly Christian (Ft. Collins, Colo./South Oldham). McDonnell ran a time of 27:47 and Christian came in with a time of 28:08.
