The Big Red women's cross country team closed out their 2006 season at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional hosted by Hanover College and placed eighth at the 31 team meet. Denison was led by senior Elaine Binkley (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) who placed 20th overall with a time of 23:17.3 to earn all-region honors. First-year Kelsey Pence (Columbus, Ind./North) just missed all-region accolades with her 39th place finish but turned in the second best showing for the Big Red with a time of 24:02.2. Ashley Albrecht (Gaithersburg, Md./Magruder), running in her fourth NCAA regional, placed 47th with a time of 24.17.4. Her teammates Brittany Cerankosky (Kirtland, Ohio/Kirtland) and Christine Collins (Chagrin Falls, Ohio/Chagrin Falls) followed closely behind. Cerankosky placed 49th in 24:20.5 and Collins came in 52nd with a time of 24:23.4.
