Field Hockey: Wooster picks up eighth conference win versus Big Red

The College of Wooster will remain in first place in the North Coast Athletic Conference standings following their 2-0 victory over the Denison Big Red on Wednesday afternoon.
The Scots, who improved to 8-1 in league play with the win got a first half goal by leading scorer Amanda Artman and an insurance goal by Briana Lynch in the second half.
The Big Red, who fall to 2-7 in NCAC play, attempted seven shots and were led by first-year Kelly Whippel's (Ridgefield, Conn./St. Luke's) three shot attempts. DU goalie Kait Fiore (Milburn, N.J./Milburn) turned in 10 saves while facing 23 shot attempts from the Fighting Scots.
Denison will travel to Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday (Oct. 25) for an 11 a.m. match-up with the Battling Bishops.
