Denison senior forward Kristen Schneider (Columbus, Ohio/Upper Arlington) was named the North Coast Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week after scoring the game-winning goal as the Big Red handed previously unbeaten Wooster their first loss of 2009, 3-2, last Saturday.

The score, which came off a penalty corner with no time left on the clock, ended the Fighting Scots' eight-game winning streak to start the season.  Schneider also scored the Big Red's first goal of the game and assisted on the second tally.  The Columbus native is currently second on the team with 14 points (4 goals, 6 assists).

DU is 6-4 overall and 4-2 in conference play.  The Big Red return to action on Saturday (Oct. 3) when they host Washington & Jefferson at 1 p.m.
