Field Hockey: DU ends season with loss to Oberlin

The Big Red field hockey team closed out the 2007 season on Saturday with a 2-1 loss at OberlinCollege.

The Yeowomen scored the first goal of the contest with 13:22 left in the game when Kaitlin Barrer scored off an assist by Christina Politis.

Three minutes later DU would tie the match at 1-1 when Brittany Paquette (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich./University Liggett) scored off a penalty corner and assists by Caitlin Gilman (Birmingham, Mich./Detroit Country Day) and Molly Nissi (Groton, Mass./Holderness).

The match would stay tied until seven minutes left in regulation when Barrer struck again to win the match for Oberlin.

Denison outshot OC, 18-17 but Oberlin outcornered them 12-10.Halle Minshall (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights) had five saves for DU while Lauren Malinowski posted 13 saves for the Yeowomen.
