Field Hockey: Oberlin keeps Big Red out of the scoring column

Oberlin goalie Lauren Malinowski saved 11 shots and held the Big Red scoreless for 70 minutes to help her Yeowomen to a 1-0 victory over Denison on Saturday night.
Oberlin's Abigail Brox broke the scoreless tie 14 minutes into the game and the goal stood up. In the second half Denison had eight penalty corner attempts and Read Powel (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Hathaway Brown) took a penalty stroke against Malinowski but the goalie came up with the save.
DU outshot Oberlin 14-9 as Denison split time in goal between Carter Hartung (St. Louis, Mo./Whitfield School) and Halle Minshall (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights). Both goalies finished with two saves each and Claire Kase (Wyomissing, Pa./Wyomissing) had one defensive save.
