Women's Golf: Denison places second on home course
Megan Fleming led DU with a 96 in Wednesday's Denison Invitational from Granville G.C.

The Denison women's golf team closed out their 2008 spring season with their best finish of the year, taking second at the Denison Invitational played at Granville Golf Course.
Denison shot a team total of 399 to finish 36 shots behind Ohio Northern. Baldwin-Wallace placed third at 403 followed by Muskingum (438) and Wilmington (452).
Megan Fleming (Marietta, Ohio/Marietta) paced Denison with a ninth place individual finish and a round of 96. She birdied the par-3 17th and played the par-3's at one-over. She was followed in 10th place by teammate Allie DeFries (Flossmoor, Ill./Homewood Flossmoor) who carded a 98. DeFries made par on the 352-yard No. 2, the 402-yard No. 8 and the 305-yard No. 16.
Following Fleming and DeFries was Chelsea Lee (Lake Forest, Ill./Lake Forest) who shot 102 and Sarah Grannemann (Okemos, Mich./Okemos) who was one stroke behind with a 103. Kathleen Slavish (Pittsburgh, Pa./Fox Chapel) rounded out Denison's scoring with a 108.
