Big Red Hurdlers Named NCAC Athletes of the Week

GRANVILLE-- Denison's Meagan Coneybeer (Uniontown, Pa./Uniontown) and Brie Jaquette (McKees Rocks, Pa./Montour) were named the North Coast Athletic Conference Sprints/Hurdles Athletes of the Week after capturing the 55 meter hurdle relay championship at Saturday's NCAC Relays hosted by Denison University. Coneybeer and Jaquette finished 1-2 in the event, respectively with Coneybeer crossing the finish line in 8.99 seconds. Jaquette was right behind with a time of 9.07. It marked the sixth consecutive victory in the event by a pair of Denison hurdlers, with Coneybeer a part of the last four titles and Jaquette the last two. The Big Red women placed third in the event. They will be back in competition on Saturday, Feb. 4 when they host the Big Red Invitational. Participating schools include Carnegie Mellon, Washington & Jefferson, Kenyon and Rose-Hulman.
