Big Red Invitational - Women's Results

Senior standout Elaine Binkley (Columbus, Ohio/Bishop Watterson) won the 3,000 meters to lead the Denison University women's indoor track and field team at Saturday's Big Red Invitational against Kenyon, Wittenberg, Rose-Hulman and Washington & Jefferson College at the Mitchell Center.
Binkley ran a time of 10:41.73 to blow away the competition. Second place went to Rachel Krasich of Rose-Hulman who crossed in 11:05.26.
First-year field event athletes Emily Taylor (Columbus, Ohio/Hilliard Davidson) and Emily Hammeren (Olmsted Falls, Ohio/Olmsted Falls) continued to impress despite this being just their third collegiate meets. Taylor finished third in the shot put with a throw of 34'8.5". Fellow freshman Emily Handelman (Rochester, N.Y./Penfield) was sixth in the event with a throw of 32'5".
In the pole vault Hammeren came through with a second-place finish after clearing 9'4". Becca Tidman (North Canton, Ohio/Hoover) was fifth after clearing 7'6".
In the 55 meter dash Ozzie Crump (Chicago, Ill./Wells) and Jessica West (Youngstown, Ohio/Culver Academy) placed fourth and fifth respectively with times of 7.97 and 7.98. In the 200 meter dash the duo flip-flopped in the final standings, with West placing fifth in 28.85 and Crump taking sixth in 29.00.
Rounding out the top performers in the races was the second place 4x400 relay team, Erin Davidson (Langhorne, Pa./Bensalem) who placed fourth in the 400 meters and Kat Lenhart (Rocky River, Ohio/Magnificat) who took third in the 800 meters.
