Women's Results from Denison Lid Lifter

The Denison women kicked off their 2007 schedule in the unscored Denison Lid-Lifter against Kenyon College and Carnegie Mellon University on Saturday at the Mitchell Center.

Sophomore Ozzie Crump earned her first collegiate victory in the 55 meter dash. She crossed the finish line in 7.92 seconds, edging teammate Jessica West who placed second in 7.94 seconds. West would add third place finish in the 200 meters with a time of 29.79 seconds.

Senior Christine Collins took home first place in the 800 meters with a time of 2:31.13. The Big Red's final victory came in the 4x200 meter relay where DU defeated Carnegie Mellon with a time of 1:57.88.

Freshman Emily Hammeren turned in a second-place performance in the pole vault. Rebecca Tidman placed third. Both athletes cleared 7'6" with Hammeren placing second in a tie-breaker.

Denison will host the 2007 NCAC relays next Saturday, Jan. 27 at the Mitchell Center.
