The Big Red women's indoor track and field squad sent the bulk of their squad to the Mike Hout Invitational at Capital University on Friday night while freshman pole vaulter Emily Hammeren represented the Big Red at the Division III All-Ohio Championships on Saturday at Otterbein College.

At the All-Ohio championship, Hammeren placed seventh overall by clearing 9'2.5".

At Capital, senior Christine Collins turned in a pair of first place performances in the mile and the 1,000 meter run. In the mile, Collins logged a time of 5:27.33 to outdistance the competition. She returned in the 1,000 with a winning time of 3:11.71. Her teammate, Ashley Albrecht, placed second in 3:14.59.

In the 55 meter dash, Amanda Conley and Ozzie Crump placed third and fourth, respectively. Conley sprinted to a time of 7.96 seconds while Crump was clocked at 8.00 seconds.

In the women's shot put first-year's Emily Taylor and Emily Handelman finished third and fifth, respectively. Taylor's best throw measured 33'11.25" and Handelman topped out at 33'00.50".

Rounding out the top finishers for Denison was Sarah Anderson who finished fifth in the 400 and Kat Lenhart who took fifth in the 800.

Denison finished in third place overall with 70 points. Ohio Wesleyan took second and Washington & Jefferson.
