Katie Kubasta
Senior Katie Kubasta (Medina, Ohio/Medina) earned first-team Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association All-West Region status while classmates Bethany Keller (Worthington, Ohio/Thomas Worthington) and Amanda Wilson (Hudson, Ohio/Western Reserve) were named to the IWLCA All-West Region second team. Kubasta and Keller are both making their second-consecutive appearances on the All-Region squad.
A second team All-West Region pick a year ago, Kubasta closed out her four-year career at Denison by earning North Coast Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors. The two-time first-team all-conference selection became just the eighth athlete in program's history to earn the honor after scooping up 19 ground balls, causing eight turnovers and controlling three draws in 2009. Throughout her four-year career in Granville the senior has collected 105 ground balls, forced 32 turnovers and notched 14 draw controls in 59 career games. The Medina, Ohio native has also netted one goal and dished out one assist.
A two-time first-team all-conference choice, Keller earned her second-straight second-team All-Region appearances after rounding up 21 ground balls and causing seven turnovers while on the Big Red defense line. After earning NCAC all-tournament team recognition in just her second season as DU's starting keeper, Wilson landed a spot on the first-team all-league accolades after stopping 126 shots and compiling a .474 save percentage. The senior goalie also grabbed a team-high tying 23 ground balls.
